For reasons such as:
Normal size napkins. I remember the days of wiping my hands on something other than toilet paper. those were good days.
Speaking of toilet paper, I miss it in the bathrooms, where it belongs. Squirty things only do so much if you know what i'm sayin...
Public garbage cans. I can't figure it out, I can never find a garbage can and yet the streets aren't ever covered in garbage. It's the trash ninjas I tell you, they clean the streets in the night. Magic!
Of course the people. I miss my family and friends. A LOT.
Drinking water on demand. Free water in restaurants and drinking fountains will NEVER be overlooked by me anymore.
So how did we celebrate the independence of that Land that we all love so much? We pretty much went back to America. No joke. We went to a Chiang Mai celebration of the 4th which included carnival like games, music, hamburgers, hotdogs, apple pie, ya know, all that American stuff. It was awesome! Good to be back for even a few hours
We all noticed that the food portions got a lot bigger once we went to "America" sad but true. but sooo tasty.
We all managed to find the pizza
And the hamburgers
Noah found his video games, and a friend to play them with
And Colleen found her democrat, and someone to flirt with
All in all I'd say that our 4th was a success. Of course I missed the annual bike decorating and breakfast with the fam, and my flag cake with Ky baby. But at least we got to end the day with some good ol fashion fireworks. Hey Thailand, thanks for making the fourth of July such a party, even a whole world away.
Favorite part of this? "Colleen found her democrat." I laughed out loud.
ReplyDeletehahaha that's hilarious and awesome. Also hilarious and awesome, guess who I ran into on Wednesday? Yep! small country :)
ReplyDeleteHappy Fourth of July Hayley! We missed you at the parade. Keep having fun. Caden and I get to watch your elephant videos almost daily! He loves them. FYI I am going to run the Provo Halloween Half and I think you should do it with me;) See ya soon!
